Description: The Idaho Transportation Department's (ITD) Roads and Highways Road Network Linear Referencing System (LRS) HPMS facility type event polyline feature class identifies the operational design of each roadway segment, specifying whether it carries one-way or two-way traffic, functions as a ramp or non-mainline connector, or represents a non-inventory direction. Facility type classification allows for consistent network modeling and analysis of roadway characteristics within the HPMS framework.Data is derived from roadway inventory records, design documentation, and traffic operations information maintained as part of ITD’s Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) reporting process to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). This information ensures alignment between ITD’s internal roadway data systems and federal reporting standards.The dataset is used by engineers, planners, and analysts to evaluate traffic operations, verify roadway function within the network, and maintain consistency between state and federal roadway classifications. Facility type values are reviewed and updated annually to reflect the current roadway configuration.These are current "working" records.
